Security in Abbi Division: DPO Task Community Leaders on Corroboration
the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Abbi Division Comprising Abbi, Ogume and Emu has charged Community Leaders to be extra vigilant and Corroborate with the Nigerian Police Force in curtailing criminal elements in the society. The DPO .CSP Florence Echukwu was speaking during the unveiling of the new members of Vigilante at Igbe Ogume. She advised Communities not to take law into their hands while dealing with criminals especially cases of murder and other related offences.
She advised the communities to report criminal cases and allow the police to do their job by allowing them to arrest, interrogate suspects who may have been petitioned on serious cases adding that the police can come into any Community for such actions while working with Community based Leaders.
She commended Alaska Ekele the new CDC Chairman of Igbe Ogume Community for reshaping the security architecture of his Community. The crime buster further advised the security outfit to always report any extra ordinary criminal acts to the police for proper action. CSP Florence Echukwu also thanked the community elders for cooperating with the police and other areas of the law enforcement agents. She equally promised to always meet with them from time to time for effective results.
The Event was attended by the Okwas, Inotus, various age grades , The Nigeria Police Force , Abbi Division , Vigilante leaders in and around Ogume.
