Sir Monday Onyeme’s Day oGlory As Utagba-Uno Elits Honour Ndokwa Personalities in government By Cyprian Eboagu & Osumah Daniels
Penultimate December 28 , 2024 as we were closing activities in the year 2024, one remarkable event took place at Utagba-Uno . It was the coming home of all Utagba-Uno Elits who gathered to honour their sons and Daughter and notable political personalities including H.E., Sir Monday Onyeme, the deputy Governor of Delta State, Nigeria.
In appreciation, the Deputy Governor who by tradition is a son of the soil promised to help development Utagba-Uno through road infrastructure through the M.O.R.E. Agenda of H.E. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori .
In his speech at the occasion, the President of Utagba- Uno Legacy Forum(ULF), Chief Engineer Chuks Nzei said that this is the first time in recent history that Ndokwa people are producing an Executive Deputy Governor in the person of Sir Monday Onyeme, including Commissioner for Finance, Sir Fidelis Okenmor Tilije, Desopadec Managing Director , Chief Festus Ochonogor, Executive Secretary of Delta State Security Trust Fund, Special Assistant to Gov. Sheriff Oberovwori on Investment, Chief Engr Tony Amaechi and Chairperson of Delta State Institute of Continuing education, Hajiya Oshamisu Omoni Johnson
Chief Nzei used the occasion to also commended the Oborevwori administration for embanking on construction of community linked roads and they equally appealed to the Delta State Government to ensure that the Utagba- Uno – Etua road and Utagba Uno/ Ikilibi road are well constructed to enable them communicate with Ndokwa West Communities. Chief Nzei further appealed to the Oberovwori administration to assist the Ebologu clan in fighting insecurity and kidnapping matters in the local arears as it has become one of the problems affecting the large clan, through its “ enhanced peace and security of the M.O.R.E. agenda
While also congratulating the awardees for the traditional tittles bestowed on them, Chief Chuks Nzei tasked the awardees to endeavor and deliver their best to the people, just as they would be supporting them at all times.
The highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of chieftaincy titles on chiefs Festus Ochonogor, “Onye Udo Enweoku, “ Hon. Chief Sir Fidelis Tilije Title “ Dike na so osa” Barrister Chief Sir Sam Osasa “Omenosa”, Chief Tony Amaechi “ Mili ne zue no osa, and Rt. Hon Nnamidi Ezechi as Egba Oma” Of Utagba Uno respectively. It was capped with the highest Chieftaincy Title bestowed on Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State.

Onah (rtd) (Ezie Ajie of Utagba-Uno) Gen Mike Ndubuisi (rtd)PG, NNU and Chairman of the occasion, Sir Dr. Charles Olise, Hon Azuka Azaka, Barrister Possible Ajede, Eng. Dan Ossai (PDP Chieftain) Lt. Commander Wilson Ikwuni (RTD) Chief Nathaniel Chime, Engr, Greg Ojieh, Sir.
