Delta APC hails Ukwuani Chairman Ajede for landmark grassroots projects.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has applauded the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. Possible Ajede, for what it described as “outstanding achievements” in grassroots development, urging other council leaders across the state to emulate his example.
In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party praised Ajede for delivering “people-oriented projects” recently commissioned by Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme. “We are particularly impressed with the establishment of a state-of-the-art ICT Centre with a fully functional library, equipping youths with digital skills, and the construction of the Local Government Education Authority Secretariat,” the statement said.
APC also highlighted investments in education, including new classroom blocks at Ethiope Primary School, procurement of uniforms and books for pupils, and improvements in infrastructure such as an 800-metre access road and 25 minibuses for the Ukwuani Mass Transit Scheme.
The party further commended ongoing projects, including an ultra-modern event centre, a chapel, a palace for the Okpala-Uku, and a modern abattoir. According to the statement, “These initiatives are a testament to purposeful leadership and responsive governance at the grassroots level.”
Delta APC stressed that Ajede’s accomplishments align with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda and complement the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which it said has increased financial inflows to local governments”
Calling on other council chairmen to follow Ajede’s example, the party noted: “Governance at the local government level must go beyond political rhetoric to visible, people-focused projects that residents can see, use, and benefit from in their daily activities.”
“Hon. Ajede’s accomplishments stand as a model of accountability, vision, and service,” APC declared, adding that posterity would remember him as “one who turned promises into tangible results for the benefit of his people.”
