‎Attention: Etua Elites Youths and the General Public

‎Recent developments surrounding the ongoing debate over the poor performance of the Managing Director (MD),  DESOPADEC, Mr. Surv Festus Ochonogor, have prompted serious concerns regarding the state of development in Etua, particularly the abandonment of the major Etua road.

‎Barrister Chief Evans Ufeli, a respected and bona fide son of Etua, recently staged a protest highlighting the neglect and abandonment of the Etua major road. He provided clear and verifiable photographic evidence showing that the road has been left in a deplorable state since 2022, undermining any claims of developmental progress made under the current MD’s tenure.

‎This protest directly contradicts assertions by the Etua Elites Youths, who have previously defended the DESOPADEC MD, asserting that significant development has taken place in Etua under his leadership. After thorough investigation and follow-up, it has become evident that the information circulating from the Etua Elites Youths is misleading and does not reflect the reality on ground.

‎In light of this, we call on the Etua Elites Youths to substantiate their claims by presenting concrete evidence, including pictorial documentation of projects allegedly initiated or completed by MD Surv Festus Ochonogor within Etua. Transparency is crucial in addressing the developmental concerns of the community.

‎While awaiting their response, we appeal to the Delta State Government to review the performance of the DESOPADEC Managing Director critically. Given the evidence of neglect and the dissatisfaction expressed by the people of Etua (Ancestral home to the MD) and Ndokwa nation at large, we strongly urge the government to consider terminating the appointment of Suv Festus Ochonogor. We therefore recommend his replacement with a competent and dedicated Ndokwa son or daughter who possesses the capacity to deliver impactful projects and drive development, especially with only nine months remaining in the current board’s tenure.

‎The future of Etua and Ndokwa infrastructure and development depends on leadership that is accountable, results-oriented, and committed to the community’s progress. We therefore expect decisive action to address this urgent matter.
