Ndokwa Must Hold Suv. Festus Ochonogor Accountable and Demand Competent Leadership for DESOPADEC Representation
It is time for the Ndokwa people—sons and daughters alike—to rise and hold Suv. Festus Ochonogor accountable for his glaring failure to influence meaningful and sustainable development for Ndokwa nation through his office as the Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC).
Rather than champion the socio-economic advancement of our communities or leverage the strategic position of his office to empower Ndokwa youths and improve our human capital, Suv. Ochonogor has consistently fallen short. His tenure has been marked by underperformance, a lack of strategic developmental vision, and a disturbing disconnect from the very people he is meant to represent.
This is not the legacy Ndokwa deserves.
In contrast, previous leaders such as Chief Wellington Okrika and Chief Askia Ogie set exemplary standards by using the DESOPADEC platform to bring tangible, visible, and impactful development to their respective ethnic nationalities. They demonstrated clarity of purpose, a passion for community growth, and a commitment to sustainable development. Sadly, Suv. Ochonogor has not followed in these distinguished footsteps.
The Ndokwa nation cannot afford to continue watching in silence while valuable opportunities are squandered. The call is now urgent and clear: Suv. Festus Ochonogor must step aside to allow a more competent, visionary, and development-minded Ndokwa son or daughter to assume the role of MD of DESOPADEC. We need someone with the strategic will, capacity, and patriotic zeal to champion the aspirations of our people.
Our communities deserve access to sustainable infrastructure, economic empowerment, youth development, and strategic interventions that reflect the rich oil-producing status of our region. We must no longer allow the NDOKWA voice to be muted in the corridors of development where decisions that shape our future are made.
Ndokwa must speak now—for silence is no longer an option.
