Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has taken a decisive step by directing the Honourable Commissioner for Energy to visit the Okpai Independent Power Plant (IPP) in Ndokwa East LGA. This is not politics. This is the direct result of Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko’s relentless advocacy for the completion of the abandoned IPP Phase 2 project. His pressure forced both the state and federal governments to act.

Let it be clear: Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko began demanding action on this project the moment he was sworn in as Senator for Delta North. He did not wait. He did not stay silent.

Delta North needs more leaders like Senator Ned Nwoko. He is the legislator who confronts powerful interests and disrupts the status quo for his people. For over 10 years, successive governments ignored the abandoned IPP Phase 2. Not one official visit. Senator Ned went there first. Now Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has followed. When I see the Commissioner at that site, I see the Governor’s authority behind it.

Because of this bold move to revive Okpai IPP Phase 2, and because it validates Senator Ned’s goodwill for his people, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has earned my vote and Senator has also earn my entire household votes come 2027.

I thank God for sending Senator Ned Nwoko to wake up the Delta State Government. And I am proud of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, as a true son of Uvwie/Okpe, for finally acting.

The record must be set straight: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori supports development when he sees it. Whatever political friction existed in the past that blocked his support for Senator Ned’s push on IPP Phase 2 must end permanently. If it had been left to the Governor alone, this project would have been completed years ago. Political interference stopped him not to support Senator Ned’s democratic push for the completion of the abandoned plant.

I publicly thank Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for listening to the people and visiting the Okpai Step-Down Phase 2 Independent Power Plant (IPP), abandoned for nearly 20 years. For the Delta State Government to step onto that site with intent to restart the project is a major breakthrough.

Senator Ned Nwoko is the light exposing what needs to be done. He shows the progress our people demand. This is why electing real democrats matters. They deliver irrespective of too much political cho-cho-cho.
